Greetings From Sponsor Lodges

FROM THE LODGE OF ALLOA No.69

On behalf of the Past Masters, Office-Bearers and Brethren of the Lodge of Alloa No. 69, may I as Right Worshipful Master congratulate all connected with Lodge Bannockburn Bruce & Thistle No. 312 on the occasion of having reached the momentous milestone of your 175th anniversary.

I consider myself extremely fortunate in having being invited to make some small contribution to this updated version of your Lodge History, the principal reason being that the Lodge of Alloa No. 69 was one of the two Lodges who sponsored the erection of a Lodge in the town of Bannockburn.

Additionally however, we in '69' recognise and appreciate the close bond of friendship which exists between the Lodge of Alloa and 'Bruce & Thistle', beginning over 175 years ago and continuing to the present day.

This relationship, along with the countless others forged over these years, will ensure that your fine Lodge will go on to celebrate many more anniversaries in years to come.

Bro. Alexander Campbell Robertson

Right Worshipful Master

LODGE ST ANDREW, DENNY & LOANHEAD No.176

I took my first steps as a Mason in Lodge Bannockburn Bruce & Thistle No. 312 in 1979.

I could not then possibly have imagined that 20 years later I would be invited to write a foreword for the updated version of the Lodge's history to mark its 175th anniversary.

Whilst I do so with great personal pleasure, the honour falls to me as the present Right Worshipful Master of Lodge St. Andrew Denny & Loanhead No. 176.

Back in 1824, members of the Denny Lodge assisted in the formation of Bannockburn Bruce & Thistle.  Now a former apprentice of '312' occupies the chair of one of your sponsor Lodges. Fate is indeed a strange phenomenon!

We at Lodge St. Andrew Denny & Loanhead No.176, congratulate Lodge Bannockburn Bruce & Thistle on the occasion of having reached your 175th anniversary and wish all at '312' best wishes and prosperity in future years.

Bro. John Bell

Right Worshipful Master
