Thursday 26 February 2026 marked the first Master Mason degree of the session and the raising of Bro. Frederick O. Tabiri.
Frederick was initiated in December 2025 and has already been on seven visits within the Stirlingshire Province. Originally from Berekum (named The Golden City and about the size of Livingston) in Ghana, Frederick, his wife Priscilla and 22-month-old daughter Ava live in Stirling where Frederick runs an information technology company.
He was led to freemasonry by his brother who is a brother of Accra Lodge in Ghana. It was his example that sparked Frederick’s interest in the Craft. And it was Google search that led him to our Lodge. And thankful we are to have him. He has already joined us on seven visits including standing is an candidate at a sister lodge. Everywhere he goes with the brethren, he makes new friends in his quiet, understated way. You will often see him tidying up during the harmony in Bannockburn and when on the road with us.
Confessing that he was, “a bit scared” during his third degree, Frederick was as attentive as ever to the lectures during the ceremony. The degree team had to work flexibly because of holidays, illness and work commitments. Frederick however got the advantage of several past masters in the degree team. Our special friend, Honorary Member Bro. James Weir MBE, Past Master Lodge Calendar No. 588 performed the Retrospect. It was a degree that many commented was the best for some time.
Afterward, Frederick thanked the brethren for supporting him on his masonic journey so far and is looking forward to sitting back and watching our up-and-coming third degrees.

A day I will never forget thank you to everyone who supported me, especially the Brethren of Bannockburn Lodge. I am truly humbled and grateful. 🤝
