Mini-guns bangin’ at the Lodge

The February 2026 Warden’s Charity Night was a rip-roaring success led by four-piece band The Mini Guns.

It’s some time since a four-piece band played at the Social Club and they went down a storm.  So much so that several brethren took their details.  And the Bannockburn regulars are already asking for their return.

Organised by our Wardens, Derek A. Robertson and Clint W. Swan PM with assistance from Thomas J. Campbell PM, all the Province’s Wardens and their partners were invited.  Five came along with the Bannockburn socialites almost filling the hall.

The Wardens, understanding that the Bannockburn brethren are often called upon for raffles, decided to give them a break and provide them all.  However, the brethren and some guests still came forward and provided prizes including hairdressing tokens.  Such is the commitment of the brethren.

At the evening’s end the audience had raise £500 for local charity Eilidh Brown Foundation, a Stirlingshire respite home for families with young people living with cancer.

Right Worshipful Master Bro. Kenneth R. Shaw and Bro. Robertson visited the home on 5 March 2026 to present the cheque.  Eilidh’s dad Gordon Brown said, “This is amazing.  Thank you all so very much.  This is an amazing amount and we are very thankful.”

Senior Warden Derek A. Robertson commented, “I saw the in-demand Mini Guns duo two years ago and knew the full band would hit the target at Bannockburn.  Charity is one of the three main pillars of freemasonry and to pass on a cheque raised by our Social Club revellers makes all the organising worthwhile.”
