In the first summer degree of 2025, Fraser Stevenson was initiated into freemasonry by a visiting degree team of Scottish Prison Service staff.
Bro. James Dawson IPM of Lodge St. John, Doune No. 171, in the Province of Perthshire West and a member of 312 led a deputation of 11 current and previous serving members of the Scottish Prison Service drawn from across the Province of Stirlingshire to confer the degree.
Fraser’s family connections with freemasonry in Bannockburn go back many generations to at least Bro. Robert Stevenson RWM,1927-1928, Fraser’s great-great-great-grandfather. In two special touches to the ceremony, Fraser’s father, David Stevenson SM and Fraser’s grandfather Bro. John Stevenson were involved in investing Fraser with the distinguishing badge of an Entered Apprentice and in the congratulations at the ceremony’s conclusion.
Both the conferring master Bro. James Dawson and our own RWM Bro. Richard A. Kerry, congratulated the degree team on their excellent working of the degree and Bro. Fraser Stevenson, the Lodge’s newest Entered Apprentice.
Bro. Stevenson’s second degree will take place on 26 July 2025 with a 5:30pm tyle.
