RWM Bro David Stevenson’s ‘Greeting Meeting’.

RWM Bro David Stevenson held his last regular meeting as Right Worshipful Master of Lodge Bannockburn Bruce & Thistle No. 312 on Thursday 30th November 2023.

On the evening there was a magnificent attendance where 115 brethren signed the tyle book. The attendance was enhanced by a very large, mixed deputation from sister lodges headed on this occasion by Bro Colin A. Arthur PM from Lodge Stirling Royal Arch No.76, who were very warmly welcomed into the lodge by RWM Bro David Stevenson and the assembled brethren.

On the evening, RWM Bro David Stevenson and his degree team raised 3 brethren to the High and Sublime Degree of a Master Mason at the end of which, along with Bro John Davidson PM, joined them on floor to congratulate and introduce them as Lodge Bannockburn Bruce & Thistle’s newest Master Masons.

Lodge Stirling Royal Arch No.76 were the successful lodge to claim the Travelling Gavel which RWM Bro David Stevenson presented to Bro Colin A. Arthur PM who gave a very thoughtful reply to our RWM while accepting the Travelling Gavel.

Before closing the lodge for the last time as RWM, Bro David Stevenson gave a heartfelt vote of thanks to the Degree team and to all the brethren who assisted him throughout his year as Master, with special mentions to Bro Tam Campbell PM and Bro Clint Swan PM for their efforts in their administrative duties. He also singled out Bro Tam Campbell PM for his personal support in sorting out the degree team for each meeting to which he was personally grateful for his efforts and will support Bro Tam Campbell PM in the forthcoming year as RWM. A special vote of thanks were offered to Bro James Andrew PM 76 for his efforts setting up the lodge for each meeting. Bro David then gave a very touching speech on the support from his family, especially from his dad, Bro John Stevenson DM, who had a very tough year fighting a serious illness. The assembled brethren acknowledged and responded to the RWM’s comments with a very loud round of applause.

At the close of the meeting, RWM Bro James Brown of Lodge St John Slamannan No.484 gave a very suitable reply on behalf of all the visiting brethren and congratulated RWM Bro David Stevenson on a magnificent year as Master and that he should be very proud of his efforts.

RWM Bro David Stevenson, for the last time as RWM, closed the lodge and the majority of the brethren then retired to enjoy the lodge hospitality.
