Monday 13 October
Tonight at Lodge Stirling Royal Arch No. 76 the assembled brethren were entertained by Bro. Jim Gardiner PM Lodge Barnes O’Clyde No 1018.
His lecture entitled ‘Random. I’ll give random’ was a 40-minute smorgasbord of masonic related facts from across the globe, ranging from architecture to music and locations to lodge numbers.
The event was attended by Junior Warden Bro. Derek A. Robertson. He said later that he knew one of his heroes keyboard virtuoso Rick Wakeman (whose concert he was going to on Thursday) was in the craft but not that two of Simple Minds were.

Tuesday 14 October
Junior Warden Bro. Derek A. Robertson visited Lodge Craiginnan 850, Dollar. There he witnessed a Fellowcraft degree conferred by a Past Master (the RWM had suspected COVID) and the lodge Office-bearers.
Afterward we adjourned to the Bowling Club for refreshments. On Provincial duties were IPM Bro. Thomas J. Campbell PM, DSC, who stood in as PGSW, SM Bro. David Stevenson PM, DSC and Bro. Duncan McKinnon PM.
On the same night RWM Bro. Richard A. Kerry visited Lodge Ladywell 1474 to witness an excellent Fellowcraft degree. At the meeting’s end he said a few words on behalf of the visitors.
Wednesday 15 October
Tonight, both our Wardens and Almoner Bro. John Whitfield attended Lodge St. John Slamannan No. 484. RWM Bro James Brown was on top of his game for his last meeting. Bro Andy Goodwin PM Lodge Zetland No. 391 was affiliated, a flawless EA degree ensued before and four brethren accepted Honorary Memberships. These were RWM Henry Dunbar from Lodge Caldercruix St. John No. 1314 in the Province of Lanarkshire Middle Ward and Laurence Dickson, Willie (cho cho) Dickson and David Gibson all from Lodge Zetland No. 391.

Thursday 16 October
This evening RWM Bo. Richard A. Kerry visited Lodge Tulliallan 598 lead a deputation of 312 Brethren, Depute Master Bro. John Whitfield, Senior Warden Bro. Kenneth R. Shaw, Bro. Alex Cunningham JEWR, Bro. Kevin Moffat Snr. SWB, Bro Fraser Stevenson and Bro. Andy Goodwin PM Lodge Zetland No. 391 HM. IPM Bro. Thomas J. Campbell PM, DSC and SM Bro. David Stevenson PM, DSC also attended with the deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire.
Senior Steward Bro. David Goodsir received his Distinguished Service Certificate for his service the Lodge and Freemasonry. Tonight was also their AGM.
What followed was a fine Fellowcraft degree with our own Bro Fraser Stevenson as candidate. At the end our RWM gave the vote of thanks and fraternal greetings.
Everyone at 312 congratulates Bro. Goodsir and wish RWM John Cowan PM and his Office-bearers the very best for the coming year.

Friday 17 October
Our Substitute Master Bro. David Stevenson PM, DSC along with Bro. Sam Harris Tyler, Bro. Fraser Stevenson and Honorary member Bro. James T. Andrew PM, headed to Lodge Corkerhill No. 1426 in the Province of Glasgow for a very spontaneous visit. Also there on the night were Bro. John Kemp PM, Bro Davie Harvey and Bro Alex McEwan from Lodge Stirling Royal Arch No. 76.
Lodge St Columba Govan No. 729 headed by their IPM, none other than Bro. Walter Smith, were brought into the lodge by Bro. Davie Hughes PM. They conferred a Master Mason degree on a progressive candidate Bro Lansdown. He is a grandson of a sadly deceased Past Master of 1426 Bro. William Hattan.
At the end of the degree RWM Bro. David Welsh No. 1426 came down to congratulate Bro. Lansdown and there produced some of his Grandad’s Masonic memorabilia. It proved an emotional gesture which I’m sure was very well received by the new Master Mason.
We then enjoyed some harmony until the early hours. Unfortunately, as it was a busy evening and the brethren had to put all the lodge furniture away in preparation for the following day’s Rangers game, we didn’t manage to get any pictures.
