10 September 2026 marked our welcome return after the summer recess.

Following the August refurb’ the Lodge was fresh, tidy, fully painted with many niggling little jobs ticked off our list.

At short notice, Mr George Hunter stepped in as replacement progressive candidate following the delay to the planned gentleman.  This was a great act from George to help us out, especially since he was recovering from recent knee surgery.  Such was his situation that we seated him for part of the degree.

The ceremony itself didn’t suffer any ‘ritual rust’, given we hadn’t met since April.  Our Past Masters covered gaps, some of them with no notice, as there were several brethren on holiday.  A great team effort.

In his comments, Secretary Thomas J. Campbell PM thanked all the brethren who helped with the Lodge clean up, tidy and painting.  He also commended the brethren for their ‘best behaviour’ representing the Lodge on our recent visit to Aberdeen.

In exchanging fraternal greetings, Bro. George Randall PM, Master of Lodge Caldercruix St. John No. 1314 praised the very fine degree work and offered his personal thanks to 312 brethren for their strong visiting to 1314 particularly over the summer.

So, welcome Bro. George Hunter, 312’s latest initiate and Entered Apprentice.  We all look forward to your second degree on 24 September 2026.
