On Thursday 19 June 2025, four Lodge brethren joined a deputation totalling 53 from PGLS to Lodge St. Clair No. 362, Glasgow.
It was their final Regular Meeting of the season with the now traditional Stirlingshire degree, an initiative started by Bro. David Murray PM. After numerous counts, the final number who signed the tyle was 101. Brethren came from Glasgow, Stirlingshire, Caldercruix, Dundee and the Province of Fife and Kinross. The Lodge room was enhanced by a Deputation of nine Brethren from the PGLG headed by SPGM Bro. Adam Provan.
Led by RWM Bro. Amrit Dhillon Lodge Zealand No. 391, the degree team conferred the Fellowcraft degree on Bro. Charlie MacVicar Lodge Carron No. 139. After a fantastic rendition of the FC, Honorary Membership was offered to RWM Bro. Amrit Dhillon which he gratefully accepted.
During the harmony, RWM Bro. Chris Black, following established custom and presented the Euan Murray memorial gavel to the Stirlingshire lodge with the largest number of members (excluding the lodge invited to carry out the degree). This year’s winner was Lodge St John Slamannan No. 484. They pipped Lodge Carron No. 139 at the post by one member.
Bro. Alex Montgomery, PM Lodge St. John Slamannan No. 484, gratefully accepted the Stirlingshire gavel after which Bro. Monty gave a suitable reply by reciting his ‘well kent’ poem.
Our Substitute Master Bro. David Stevenson PM, DSC, called it, “A fantastic night.” With Bro. Stevenson were, IPM Bro. Thomas J. Campbell PM, DSC, Bro. Alex Cunningham, Jeweller, and Bro. Kevin Moffat Snr, Sword Bearer.
